
“SM Sourcing,” an apparel manufacturing facility located in Gazipur, Bangladesh, has received official recognition from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for obtaining the prestigious LEED Platinum certification. The facility was recognised with a LEED Platinum Certification in Recognition of Sustainability Leadership. This accomplishment demonstrated SM Sourcing’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
SM Sourcing has got its LEED Platinum recognition, which it attained with the maximum LEED points (106 of 110), representing a major turning point in its progress towards sustainable development and environmental stewardship. This accomplishment demonstrates SM Sourcing’s steadfast dedication to building a healthier, greener future for future generations.
The ceremony, which took place on Monday, at the 360 TSL Training Centre in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, highlighted the cutting-edge features and technologies that helped the facility achieve LEED Platinum certification. SM Sourcing’s proactive attempts to reduce its environmental effect and its holistic approach to sustainability are demonstrated by the implementation of energy-efficient design components and water conservation measures.

The CEO of SM Sourcing, Mirza Shams Mahmud Shakti, expressed his satisfaction in improving Bangladesh’s standing internationally. “We concentrated on the rainwater storing system under the garden on the factory premises and its diversified usage in the factory.
