Four e-commerce platform including Evaly and Dhamaka, which have been in news due to alleged anomalies, have had their membership cancelled recently by e-CAB or the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh, due to what the association (e-CAB) maintained non-payment of dues to merchants and customers, non-compliance with the Digital Commerce Management Guideline 2021, non-response to complaints and unsatisfactory response.
The four entities are namely Sirajganjshop.com, Evaly, Dhamaka and Eorange, which have come under scanner recently after several customers and merchants, reportedly, filed cases against these entities.
Meanwhile, as per a notification issued by the e-CAB, the decision to cancel the membership of these companies was taken at a meeting of e-CAB’s executive council even as with this suspension, the entities in question, will, reportedly, lose the privilege of sending US $ 10,000 abroad each year without approval, apart from the other benefits that they were supposed to enjoy.
