One of Bangladesh’s most widely known footwear brands, Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh), has recently launched a collection of Weinbrenner sneakers, designed with multiple recycling features, thus becoming the first in Bangladesh to introduce eco-friendly shoe in the country.
In a press release issued in this direction, the company maintained that the collection is available at all Bata flagship stores as well as online even as it went on to maintain that upper part of the shoe is made from 100 per cent recycled PET bottles, supported by Refiber; and 30 per cent recycled EVA has been used for the outsole, while the insole is 98 per cent recycled, powered by Ortholite.
“…I am sure, the consumers will appreciate our effort,” reportedly, stated Iftekhar Mallick, the head of marketing, Bata Bangladesh while adding that the new collection of the Weinbrenner sneakers is a milestone for the shoemakers of Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned here that Bata was recently in the news after the company plunged to its worst ever losses since it entered the Bangladesh market before independence, owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
