
Thanks to good business during the Eid season, amidst pandemic-induced restrictions going out of the equation, Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited, in the April-June quarter of this year, posted 16 times higher profit year-on-year.
As per reports, Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited earned a net profit of Taka 26.54 crore in the period, up from Taka 1.56 crore a year ago.
Speaking to the media, a senior company official, reportedly, maintained shoemakers in the country witnessed a decent turnover this time around, who otherwise could not do business during Eid festivals – which contribute to a big chunk of their annual sales – in the past two years because of the pandemic-induced restrictions.
Reports further added that at the end of the first half of this year, the company’s total revenue stood at Taka 528.13 crore and net profit at Taka 33.39 crore.
