Shahab Uddin Khan, chairman and managing director of Zeeshan Group, has been re-elected as the president of the Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI) for the 2024-26 term. The election took place during KBCCI’s annual general meeting (AGM) on 10th March, according to a press release.
Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik attended the AGM, along with Meghna Group of Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mostafa Kamal, who serves as an adviser to the chamber.
In the newly formed leadership panel, Jahangir Saadat, president of Korean EPZ, has been elected as senior vice-president, while Gerald Chun, managing director of LG Electronics Bangladesh Limited, will serve as vice-president. Additionally, Jin Hur, country manager of Woori Bank, has been appointed treasurer, and Million Park, managing director of MKP Designers Co Limited, will serve as secretary general.
KBCCI plays a crucial role in strengthening trade and investment between Bangladesh and South Korea, particularly in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector. The chamber facilitates collaboration between Korean investors and Bangladeshi manufacturers, promoting technology transfer, efficiency, and sustainability in apparel production.
