Even as the Western sanctions continue on Russia while many Russian banks have been excluded from SWIFT system thereby creating payment uncertainty for Bangladesh apparel exporters, the countries are now considering several alternatives, including barter trade.
Media reports maintained this citing Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander Mantytskiy.
“…the Embassy of Bangladesh in Moscow offered to consider the possibility of barter,” reportedly, maintained the Russian envoy briefing the press at the Russian embassy in Dhaka, while adding mechanism of trading in Yuan as well as that in national currencies is also, reportedly, under consideration.
