“Our endeavour is to serve the customer by providing spare parts for any type of sewing machine,” said Pankaj Nahata, Managing Director, Gaylord Machines, Bangalore. Working with companies from China and Taiwan, Gaylord stocks a range of about 50,000 spares and attachments not only for sewing moachine but also for fusing and steam ironing systems. “Some of our famous customers include Gokaldas Images, Shahi Exports, Richa Global, Orient Craft, Pantaloons and Provogue,” says Pankaj proudly.
Keen to take up manufacturing of spare parts, Nahata said, “The product range is so vast that we are still in the process of figuring out specifically which parts would do well in India.”

The company has vast experience in manufacturing many of the products required in garment manufacturing. It has recently come out with silicon powder sprays, garment chalks and marking pens manufactured in Bangalore under the name of Hanjan. Nahata is very proud of the quality of his product. He says, “These small items are always in demand but had to be imported from other countries. When the same products are manufactured in India, they cost a lot less but deliver comparable quality.”
Hanjan Silicon Powder, a fusing machine belt cleaner is scheduled to be launched in India next month and promises to deliver better quality than its Japanese and Korean versions. “The problem with earlier belt cleaners was that the residue gets stuck in the bearings of the machine. Hanjan Silicon Powder would ensure that the belt is cleaned without leaving any residues that disrupt the working of the machine,” added Nahata.
The company has also come up with a new fabric marking chalk that has better strength and a continuous run of 12 m as opposed to the 5 m run of ordinary chalks available in the market, and at one third of what one would pay to get such chalks imported from China. Their new range of marking pens has a special ink that automatically vaporizes after some time leaving no traces on the fabric. The marking are both air and water erasable.
