US-based Brother International Corporation has launched a new digital DTG (Direct to Garment) printer named, ‘Brother GTX’. The printer promises high quality, single pass printing capabilities and high print speed.
The NexGen printer also supports a ‘graphics lab printing software’ that helps users in importing artwork, adding text, positioning elements and applying artistic effects on the garment.
The company has installed new print heads in the GTX model and each print head contains 1,680 nozzles. This allows 1200 x 1200 dpi print in a single pass, making the printer more than two times faster than the previous models.
One of the notable features of the GTX digital printer is the white print head which is placed behind the CMYK Colour Dispenser. The placement of the white print head has been termed as an innovative step as this will allow a full design print in a go which will save a lot of time.
The printer uses an entire new water-based pigment ink ‘Innobella Textile’. “The inks have a larger colour gamut and are Oeko‐Tex Eco‐Passport certified and CPSIA compliant,” claims Brother.
GTX will help the manufacturers in eliminating heavy maintenance as the downtime is reduced with the introduction of white ink circulation system and a wet capping station. The system keeps white ink in suspension whereas the station stops ink drying process in the nozzle plate.
Brother claims that the Return on Investment (ROI) will increase for the manufacturer as the print area has been increased to 16 x 21 inches in this model. This will further lead to a higher output.
