Laces remained as a big trend for women’s wear for almost 4 seasons in a row and now it’s time for men’s wear to embrace the fine fabric. Lace shirts were the most popular and fresh trend which emerged this season that invited a few skeptics and loyalists. Christopher Bailey from Burberry was in the latter lot, out of 44 garments, 33 sported laces. The opening number included an ivory lace shirt under a trench coat, and then there was a teal double-breasted suit worn over with a mint lace shirt, head-to-toe lace jumpsuits and lace shirts with ruffle detailing on the placket. Gucci also sent down lace shirts down the runway in bright colours and with floral patchwork on them, No.21 used a black lace vest, MSGM used an abstract patterned lace shirt and sent out an all-black jumpsuit in floral lace.
