
The import-export activities across Benapole land port are closed for 2 days, according to media reports.
The import-export activities and unloading of trucks carrying goods have been halted at Benapole and Petrapole (on the Indian side) owing to Bishwakarma Puja and Friday being the weekly holiday.
As per available reports, no freight trucks have made across the border since Thursday (17 September) and hundreds of lorries carrying goods were said to be waiting across both sides of the border.
However, movement of people (passengers) across the border is reportedly continuing but after marinating all safety protocols and health guidelines so as to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the C&F Staff Association at Benapole Port, Sajedur Rahman, is said to have intimated traders on the Indian side of the temporary closure of the trading activities.
