Employers in all sectors in Bangladesh, including the garment makers, have been directed by the State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Mannujan Sufian to ensure workers’ wages and bonus are disbursed by 7 July before the Eid-ul-Azha holiday ensues.
The State Minister for Labour and Employment, reportedly, issued a statement in this regard recently following the decision arrived at the Tripartite Consultative Council on RMG and the National Tripartite Consultative Council meeting of the ministry held on 28 June.
The Minister also, reportedly, maintained that it has been decided at the meeting that the Eid leave would be combined with the Government holiday and the owners would give leave to the workers through owner–worker negotiations.
