Garment makers in Bangladesh are seeking faster delivery of imported raw materials through coordination between customs and port authorities even if “self-clearance licence” to the exporters by the revenue board is also demanded as a main mechanism for faster trade transactions to catch up with market demand.
Media reports maintained this while adding BGMEA President Faruque Hassan –during a recent meeting with the National Board of Revenue NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem– placed the demand.
In the said meeting were also, reportedly, present BGMEA Vice-President Shahidullah Azim, BGMEA Director Asif Ashram and Chair of BGMEA Standing Committee on Foreign Mission Cell Shams Mahmud.
