
The apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, the BGMEA, has sought the support of the country’s Foreign Minister, to help boost apparel exports through economic diplomacy.
This was underlined by media reports which added in a recent meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan had sought stronger roles of missions abroad in exploring new market opportunities even as he stressed the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to explore trade opportunities and facilitate exports.
At the said meeting was, reportedly, also present Chair of BGMEA Standing Committee on Foreign Mission Cell Shams Mahmud, BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim and Director Asif Ashraf.
