
Fabric and other raw material worth lakhs of rupees gutted in fire broke out in a garment factory identified as Ajanta in Site 4 area of Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP, India. The incident took place after a boiler kept inside the factory premises exploded on March 21.
No loss of lives or injury was reported to any factory workers, who were present in the factory at the time of the incident. The factory used to manufacture fabrics used in jeans. At least six fire tenders doused the flame after struggling for around 40 minutes.
“There was a sudden explosion in the boiler kept inside the factory, and since it was fabric which are highly inflammable, fire spread rapidly,” a police official was quoted as saying by a leading English Daily.

“The flames were quite high and could have proved out to be life threatening for any of the workers who are employed had it been any other time, but fortunately major crisis was averted,” he added.
