
Underlining non-compliance is a major problem in the Bangladesh leather sector, experts have called upon concerned stakeholders including the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Industries, Forests and Climate Change and the Ministry of Labour and Employment to ensure compliance in the leather sector of the country.
Taking part in a recent webinar, speakers, reportedly, noted that due to non-compliance, the exporters are getting lesser price for their products.
They further, reportedly, maintained just price of leather products was also not being ensured in the local market as well.
“There are many challenges in this sector of which the major one is solid waste management,” reportedly, claimed the Secretary (Ministry of Industries) Zakia Sultana taking part in the discussion.
