Reports on China’s textile and clothing sector going through a rough patch have been doing rounds in the recent past. But according to a China-based PR firm SinoInteractive, the country will reach new heights in the apparel segment in the coming years. The annual apparel sales in the Chinese market is expected to surpass US $ 300 million-mark by the year 2019, noting a surge of 25 per cent from 2014. Whereas American apparel market is estimated to strike US $ 267 million in three years, which clearly indicates that China will surpass the US in terms of sales of apparel products.

Also, the apparels made in China for US export has a functional duty of around 9.63 per cent for textiles and 16.05 per cent for clothes; and with Free Trade Agreement (FTA) coming in, the products from China will face stiff competition from other Asian countries in exporting to the American market .
SinoInteractive has also pointed out that online trade of apparels will also play a key role in placing China as the global leader in the apparel market. E-commerce giants like Globalegrow, Alibaba and others will constitute up to 50 per cent of the global e-commerce market by 2018, the report mentions.
