The presence of SGS in the region will provide more convenient and faster services to the Central Java Market, which contributes around US $ 2.29 billion for textile and garment products export from the country. Complimentary to SGS’s existing testing laboratory in Jakarta, and in respect of increasing demand for consumer product testing services in Indonesia, this laboratory is ideally placed for Semarang, Solo and Yogyakarta, which are considered as hubs of Indonesian textile industry, and Surabaya, the centre of footwear and leather industry.

The state-of-the-art laboratory has already been awarded ISO 17025 accreditation by KAN (Indonesia’s National Accreditation Committee). The lab will provide physical and chemical testing services which is of great significance with increased consumer awareness on the quality and safety of textile and garment products, as well as comprehensive global regulatory requirements make it vital for brands, retailers and manufacturers to provide customers with quality products all the time.
As per the press release of the company, in addition to testing services, quality inspection, compliance audits, factory assessment and loading supervision make SGS Indonesia a ‘one-stop’ service provider for the country’s textile industry.
