
Thanks to the local garment makers diversifying product offerings and enhancing their capacities, Bangladesh is turning into a major sourcing hub for uniforms for the air force, military, navy, fire brigade and police for different countries around the globe.
Media reports maintained this adding Bangladesh has long been supplying Army uniform to NATO or the North American Treaty Organisation, an intergovernmental military alliance.
“…I am making uniforms for the Army of Belgium and the police of Kosovo,” reportedly, maintained Managing Director of Team Group, Abdullah Hil Rakib even as according to the industry insiders, of over US $ 31 billion garment exports from Bangladesh, uniform for defence forces fetch between US $ 400 million and US $ 500 million annually.
Reports further add BGMEA, which is the apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, is carrying out a study in collaboration with an Indian firm to find out the markets of uniforms to help local manufacturers raise their share in the segment.
