Bangladesh is all set to make the transition from the league of least developed countries to joining the club of developing nations, which will come with its own share of challenges as well.
Businesses in the country have called upon the Government to sign more Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs) and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with various countries and regional cooperation organisations over the same.
According to reports, business leaders in Bangladesh made this call recently during the second meeting of the Standing Committee on International Affairs, International Trade Bodies, Development Partners and Strategic Partners at the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI).
Speaking at the event, FBCCI Vice-President M. A. Momen reportedly maintained Bangladesh needs to prepare for the LDC graduation from now on, while adding that FBCCI is going to organise Bangladesh Business Summit next March to highlight the promising sectors of Bangladesh to foreign investors even as he called on businesses and entrepreneurs from different sectors of Bangladesh to come forward.
