Continuing with its training programmes and workshops on advance courses for machine operators and machine technicians, India’s largest vocational training network for the apparel sector, the Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC), recently setup its workshop in Katol, Nagpur (Maharashtra).
The workshop which was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Mukul Wasnik, highlighted on two courses – Garment Construction Techniques (GCT) and Sewing Machine Operator (Basic & Advance). About 90 OBC candidates, most of them Graduates, sponsored by National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSCFDC), New Delhi keenly attended this job-oriented exercise.
“ATDC-Katol Centre will prove to be a milestone for youngsters, especially those who wish to make the fashion or garment industries as a career,” said Wasnik. At present 14 SNLS machines, one SNLS UBT, one computerized button hole machine and one computerized button sewing machine have been installed here for training the students.
Dr. Darlie Koshy, Director General & CEO, ATDC & IAM, shared the policy and importance of SMART programme with the minister, while Hari Kapoor, Vice Chairman, ATDC highlighted the success of PAN India training project under the Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS).
