In a critical breakthrough, the Singapore-based textile chemical specialist has developed a new reactive black dye Avitera Black SE to address potential impurity of hazardous substance p-chloroaniline (PCA) within reactive black dyes. The company informed that independent analytical test institutes have confirmed that this innovative dyestuff is free from restricted arylamines, including PCA. An extension to the award-winning Avitera SE dye range, the new Avitera Black SE dye meets tighter and stringent restrictions on hazardous substances in supplied products and treated textile articles such as Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals, bluesign, Oeko-Tex, and the Restricted Substance List (RSL).
Avitera Black SE dye enables mills to achieve significant water and energy savings of up to 50 per cent and reduce CO2 emissions by 50 per cent or more, the company claims. With its low-temperature, high-speed wash off properties, Avitera Black SE dye also reduces processing time to boost production by 25 per cent or more. Designed for dyeing at very short liquor ratios, typically 6:1 or less with a maximum of four 60 centigrade rinses to ensure the lowest processing costs, Avitera Black SE dye can be used to produce all deep-black shades as well as medium-to-deep grey shades.
