The cost of living shooting through the roof consequent to hike in prices of daily essentials after the recent fuel price hike, Garments Sramik Front, a garment workers’ body in Bangladesh, has demanded garment workers be paid minimum monthly wage of Taka 24,000.
As per reports, the garment workers’ body recently staged demonstrations in capital Dhaka to press home their demand for the wage hike.
The leaders of Garments Sramik Front while underlining after prices of daily essentials have skyrocketed subsequent to the fuel price hike, resulting in struggle for the garment workers to survive amidst fears of malnutrition, also called for introduction of dearness allowance for the interim period and ration at subsidised prices for the apparel workers.
