Bangladesh’s garment industry had already demonstrated the feasibility of achieving US $ 50 billion in exports and that the packaging industry had similar potential under the right policy framework and incentive structure.

The introduction of a standalone and updated framework is intended to modernise customs brokerage operations, streamline procedures and better reflect the changing requirements of clearance and forwarding activities.

The partnership aims to strengthen human rights and environmental due diligence, enhance compliance capacity, and improve the overall quality of life of garment workers.

It was mentioned that the German development agency GIZ provided financial support for the publication, while Sassnex Limited contributed technical expertise to ensure quality. The report has been published by BGMEA's Responsible Business Hub (RBH).
