The Korean pioneer, SunStar is confident that it has the right mix of products, technical support and marketing partners in ATE to make it big in the garment manufacturing industry in India, even though they are relatively new in the Indian marketplace. “The vision is to get a bigger share of the market,” avers Cruise Kim the new Managing Director of SunStar’s India Office. Assuring his support to the company, K B Prasad, Business Head, Textile Engineering Division of ATE, added, “SunStar has made some big investments in their R&D recently, to redefine the company’s complete portfolio and New Network Systems (NNS) a smart production management tool is just the beginning. We as their partners have promised our complete support to the company in India.”
The competitive edge of SunStar is based on three pillars – innovative technology, cost-effective production and eco-friendly systems. “Each of SunStar’s products is aimed at providing the highest quality and creativity. With a strong team assuring 24X7 service and reasonable price mechanism, we actively support customers’ growth,” says Kim.
The launch of an advanced communication system using IT-NNS (New Network System) was the major attraction at the GTE, justifying its “Think outside the box” motto. NNS a Smart Production Management System (SDMS) can be applied to all production and manufacturing systems.
Through NNS, the entire manufacturing process can be done in a more efficient and innovative manner by implementing communication channels between the brand buyer, the factory, and the machine supplies. “SDMS (Sunstar Design and Manufacturing System) will change the paradigm of the stitch industry with its new platform” says Kim.
SunStar has recently made some big investments in their R&D to redefine the company’s complete portfolio and New Network Systems (NNS), a smart production management tool.
SDMS is available in two forms SDMS 1, for sewing machines and SDMS 2, for embroidery machines. The system helps prevent over-investment through the optimizing of operator arrangement and reducing mobility, achieves real-time production management and consistent sewing quality. The cloud based software providing pattern designs is available for download and is fast, accurate and user-friendly. “This is the first time NNS is being introduced in India, though it already exists in other countries such as USA, Turkey, Brazil and Korea. We have got a very good response from other countries and now are hoping to get a positive feedback from India as well,” explains Kim. Live demonstrations of the system were given at the fair with the help of two operational sewing lines, one with NNS machines and the others without. “We were able to show visitors 20 per cent improvement on the spot,” adds Kim.
The system is efficient for all types of companies. It can facilitate a buyer by helping in selection of factory having efficient operations while it helps manufacturers in monitoring production processes. Any increase or decrease in production is updated instantly. To avoid delays and defects in advance, SDMS provides a platform for better communication. “It is the future of garment manufacturing as it is not just real time data collection system rather a facility monitoring system,” concludes Kim.
