IIGM over the last three decades has established a reputation of being one of India’s foremost technology and services company, providing technology and process solutions of 35 world leading companies in home textiles and apparel technology. Representing companies like Juki, GSD, Gerber, Eton, Barudan, Eastman, Yamato, Rotondi to name a few, IIGM with a core philosophy of ‘value-added services’, has 12 offices across the country employing over 300 professionals who work diligently to satisfy over 5,000 customers with a wide range of ‘end-to-end’ solutions.
“If you associate yourself with good brands you automatically develop the same image for your company and this has paid dividend as other technology manufacturers now want to work with us, so it is a win-win situation,” says a very satisfied Pavan Kapoor, MD, IIGM (India Industrial Garment Machines), representing his company at the Bangalore edition of the GTE. IIGM had one of the biggest stalls at the fair which was thronged by visitors on all three days. Pavan Kapoor emphasised that work aids and automation equipment are actually the way forward for apparel manufacturers but adds, “if you automate yourselves too much, the system would become rigid to accommodate any kind of change. Hence a line should be drawn somewhere, for which you need to know your business well. Being responsible technology providers it’s not about what we can provide, but what do you actually need.”

The relevance of advanced technologies is more in hard times than anytime else.” [/bleft]
Among the various technology solutions, the most sought after were sewing machines with work-aids and attachments from Ngai Shing. The company had showcased shirt auto-sewing equipment and stacker, on a line of six sewing machines with equipment like button front stacker with table top, button front interlining cutting device and shirt placket interlining cutting device with stacker.
Kapoor, however, disagrees with the thought that companies have put on hold all expansion plans, due to the global slowdown. “Actually the head-strong in the industry have invested in newer and better technologies during these tough times, producing better quality products much more efficiently and in the end would be the ones who would be rewarded. The relevance of advanced technologies is more in hard times than anytime else,” he quips.
