NIFT Delhi – a premier fashion technology institution – has added yet another feat to its belt…
The Intelligent Skill Mapping and Rating Technology (i-SMART), developed by NIFT Delhi, has been selected as one of the top six winners of the STITCH for RMG Innovation Challenge organised by BRAC with H&M Foundation and The Asia Foundation.
i-SMART will now receive US $ 30,000 as an incubation grant from H&M Foundation for piloting i-SMART in Bangladesh and scaling up the global industry.
Expressing the joy in the LinkedIn post, Dr. Prabir Jana, Professor, NIFT Delhi, commented, “We are simply at loss of words to express our gratitude to all the stakeholders who believed in our solution, and are part of our decade-old journey. We will come back with more details soon.”
It’s worth noting here that i-SMART technology is said to be a key contributor in disrupting current sewing machine operators’ evaluation system, which is primarily an assessment of quality and rate of production.
The STITCH for RMG is known to drive innovations in order to improve the livelihoods of women workers from the ready-made garments industry of Bangladesh and increase factory performance.
