In keeping with the latest hype around big brands, organizing cruise runway presentations in iconic, spectacular settings and fancy locales to create a high-visibility event outside of the traditional fashion week calendar, the Group led by Miuccia Prada, has also been seen walking along this path.
This first show featuring Prada’s 2018 cruise collection is set to debut on May 7 at the Fondazione Prada’s Osservatorio, an 800-square-meter space for photography and visual art exhibitions. The exhibition hall was opened to public last December and is located on the top floors of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, an iconic historic shopping mall in the heart of Milan.
This historic 19th century Galleria, which serves as a connecting building between the Cathedral and the Scala Theater, is already home to two huge Prada outlets.
The Galleria is considered the most prestigious place in the city and is still known as the “Salon of Milan.”
