Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday will inaugurate a 2-day textile fair at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).
This was informed by the Textiles and Jute Secretary Lokman Hossain Mia while addressing a press meet at the secretariat.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, State Minister for Labour and Employment Monnujan Sufian and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Textiles and Jute Ministry Mirza Azam will also be present at the inauguration ceremony of the 2-day textile fair as special guests.
“Initially the textile fair was supposed to be held for 3 consecutive days, but it was decided to suspend the fair on 10 January because of the inauguration ceremony for the countdown to Mujib Borsho, celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” stated Lokman, adding that nine associations/institutions will be awarded in various categories during the fair for boosting exports, promoting excellence and developing the textile sector.
