Celebrating the re-opening of DMI (Dhirubhai Mistry Institute for Print Education, Research and Training) Institute, dedicated to screen printing industry, Grafica recently organized an informal ceremony-cum get-together. Graced by around 175 leading print professionals, the event proved to be a hallmark to raise the bar for screen printing industry and strive to completely remove problems like ‘moire’, as noted by Bhargav Mistry, Managing Director of Grafica Flextronica. He underlined Grafica’s commitment to impart education and training to printers in India and abroad through DMI institute. Bhargav announced that the new DMI will focus on advanced screen printing (graphics and value addition) and direct to garment screen printing as screen printers continue to face considerable problems in screen making and pre-press. He also informed the gathering that with the cooperation of Maharashtra State Government, DMI will initiate Rojgaar Yojana Scheme under which unemployed youth from Maharashtra would be trained in screen printing with short-term courses.
