MT Sweaters Limited, one of the largest apparel manufacturing companies, has received GIZ’s prestigious Green Button Special Award.
“This is a significant accomplishment for the sustainability sector, particularly for future growth,” stated Mizanur Rahman, Managing Director of MT Sweaters Ltd. “We are committed to ensuring sustainability in all our manufacturing processes,” Mizanur added.
Apart from this outstanding accomplishment, MT Sweaters was also awarded a score of 82 by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for its LEED Platinum certification.
The USGBC gives this accreditation under several strict standards, including performance in areas like waste management, energy efficiency, transformation, and conservation of water. The highest honour, a Platinum grade, is given to factories that excel in these categories. Gold and Silver awards are given to companies that meet slightly fewer requirements.
