
Merchant Bay’s Digital Trade Week 2020 ended successfully recently.
As per media reports, in the first ever such event organised by Merchant Bay, more than 400 suppliers expressed interest in the digital space and its business aspects while around 15,000 industry partners visited Merchant Bay.
Further, during the 7-day programme which aimed at facilitating virtual meeting between global buyers and Bangladeshi suppliers, buyers reportedly gathered information on products, pricing and other related issues of various suppliers in the country.
This is the first time in Bangladesh that Merchant Bay has organised such an event, reportedly stated the Managing Director of Merchant Bay, Abrar Hossain Sayem, adding it was done with the objective to take forward the garment and related sectors.
During the event, a string of webinars and panel discussions were reportedly held including ‘Digital Trade in Global Perspectives’ in which participants discussed how entrepreneurs are transforming themselves through digital transformation while in another webinar pertaining to the existing situation, entrepreneurs expressed their views on staying ahead in adverse conditions during the period of COVID-19.
