
After Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s appeal to Bulgarian investors to invest in Bangladesh, country’s Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed reportedly called upon the Saudi Arabian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh, recently.
Addressing a meeting with the Director General of Saudi Export Programme (SEP), Ahmed M Al-Ghannam, who is also the Chairman of Saudi Bangladesh Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company (SABINCO), in Riyadh recently, Tofail reportedly referred to sectors such as readymade garments (RMG), pharmaceutical and agriculture to increase further trade and investment between the two nations.

Later, after attending the 15th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Trade Fair in Riyadh, Tofail reportedly held meetings with Governor of Riyadh Faisal bin Bandar and Saudi Commerce and Investment Minister Al Qassabi, and exchanged views on common interests to promote trade and investment among the OIC countries.
Al Qassabi, on his part, reportedly underlined that businessmen of his country could explore further trade and investment opportunities with Bangladeshi businessmen and they can visit Bangladesh for this purpose, who also requested Tofail to bring the issues to his notice for immediate action.

It may be mentioned here that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, during a recent meeting with a 15-member Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industries’ delegation, called upon the entrepreneurs of that country to invest in Bangladesh’s various sectors. She also reportedly apprised the Bulgarian team of the various initiatives of the Bangladesh Government initiated in the interest of the foreign investors, besides highlighting about upcoming investor-friendly projects like SEZs and IT parks.
