According to the President of Bangladesh Hide and Skin Merchants’ Association, Aftab Ali, the Government has reportedly fixed prices for hides preserved with salt and had the same been done for hides that have not been preserved with salt, rawhide traders would have got better prices for those as well.

Further, the Government also decided to allow export of rawhides and wet blue leather if required to make sure that the seasonal traders can get proper prices.
