
Underlining the Bangladesh Government has been making strenuous efforts to improve the business environment by removing the obstacles, South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-Keun maintained Bangladesh is an attractive investment destination for South Korean companies and they will find more opportunities here.
The South Korean envoy, reportedly, made this observation at a recent webinar on ‘Exploring Korea-Bangladesh Relations in the Last Five Decades and Beyond,’ organised by the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS), where he was the guest speaker.
Korea has been the leading foreign investor in Bangladesh apparel industry since the early 1980s, reportedly, maintained Lee Jang-Keun while adding that slowly but steadily, more and more Korean companies have started investing in different other potential areas even as according to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (South Korea), over 200 Korean companies have so far invested in Bangladesh even as South Korea’s collective investment in Bangladesh, reportedly, amounts to around US $ 1.2 billion and it ranks 5th amongst all other investor countries.
