Ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, Rawhide traders in Bangladesh are rather upbeat about business after tannery owners cleared last year’s arrears owed to them, which would now help them buy hides and skin from the seasonal traders during this Eid.
Media reports maintained this citing Aftab Khan, the President of the Bangladesh Hide and Skin Merchants’ Association.
According to Aftab, rawhide traders across Bangladesh have already received arrears amounting to around Taka 650 crore from the tanners, as a result of which Aftab is hopeful that rawhide merchants will face no cash crunch, which was acute over the last couple of years.
