Calling upon Primark to increase sourcing apparel, especially more diversified value-added products from Bangladesh, Faruque Hassan, who is the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has urged the Irish multinational fast fashion retailer to step up partnership with Bangladeshi suppliers in product diversification and sustainability.
This is as per a press release issued in this direction which added the call was made when a delegation of Primark and Associated British Foods met with the BGMEA President at the BGMEA Complex in capital Dhaka recently.
The BGMEA chair reportedly called upon the brand to strengthen partnership with its Bangladesh suppliers to produce more innovative high-end products while also requesting Primark to build long-term partnership with suppliers to support them in scaling up capacity in the area of products, processes and sustainability.
