Pakistan textile and apparel sector and JICA join hands

In a meeting to work out the parameters for the project of ‘Skill Development and Market Diversification’ (PSDMD), between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Pakistan’s Ministry of Textile Industry, it has been mutually agreed that JICA experts will technically assist the Pakistani apparel industry, especially the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in the field of international marketing practices along with compliance requirement, marketing and product diversification. The second component of the project will focus on capacity building of Pakistan Readymade Garment Technical Training Institute (PRGTTI) and Pakistan Knitwear Training Institute (PKTI). The JICA experts will also be imparting training and providing necessary machinery for the training institute at Faisalabad Garment City.
