India on 20 April (Tuesday) approved the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signed with Bangladesh earlier on 27 March on the establishment of a framework of cooperation in the area of trade remedial measures.
Media reports maintained this adding the Indian Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its ex post facto approval to the MoU on the establishment of a framework of cooperation in the area of trade remedial measures even as the MoU seeks to foster better cooperation between the relevant authorities of both the countries so as to discourage unfair trade practices and promote rule-based bilateral trading between the two countries, while citing India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) in this regard.
It may be mentioned here that the MoU was signed on 27 March in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka during the trip of Narendra Modi to the country.
