
Danish shipping company Maersk Bangladesh, in partnership with Ispahani Summit Alliance Terminals Limited (ISATL), is all set to build a 200,000 sq. ft custom bonded warehouse in the port city of Chittagong even as the new warehouse will double the existing capacity at ISATL and add around 8 per cent additional space to the existing ecosystem in Chittagong.
Media reports maintained this adding construction of the new CFS has already started and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 in a phased manner even as speaking to media, Managing Director of Maersk Bangladesh, Angshuman Mustafi said, “Maersk’s commitment to connect and simplify our customers’ supply chains means that we look at long-term solutions…”
Reports further claimed apart from capacity enhancement, the facility will offer several other benefits to Bangladesh’s exports even as Maersk will also, reportedly, offer customers bar code and RFID scanning, Garment on Hanger facility, sorting, product audit, labelling, etc.
Further new facility is, reportedly, being built by benchmarking international best practices in terms of safety and other compliance guidelines.
