The President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Abdul Matlub Ahmad has reportedly called upon Turkish business community to invest in the readymade garment (RMG) sector of Bangladesh.
The FBCCI President reportedly made this appeal recently during a meeting between a 23-member Turkish business team and an FBCCI delegation in Dhaka, asking them to invest in furniture sector, construction, textile and PVC-pipe manufacturing, besides RMG.

“Turkey is Bangladesh’s genuine friend and development partner,” Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, reportedly said, adding, “The visit of the business team will further facilitate the existing trade and business relation between the two friendly countries.”
In the meeting, participated by Directors of FBCCI and representatives of different chambers and associations, the visiting Turkish business team reportedly expressed keen interest to import necessary products from Bangladesh, while maintaining that the Bangladesh businessmen could also import the potential products from Turkey.

It may be mentioned here that recently the leader of Opposition in Parliament Raushan Ershad also urged the British government to increase investment in the RMG sector, while addressing a British delegation, led by Labour Party lawmakers that called upon her.
“The United Kingdom has an opportunity to raise their investment and can play a significant role in the development of the livelihood of the apparel industry workers of the country,” Raushan reportedly told the 14-member UK delegation on ‘Labour Friends of Bangladesh’.
