Close on heels of observing a day-long strike, the Federation of Bangladesh Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association on 8 June demanded changes in some rules and a proper implementation of customs valuation rules.
As per reports, the association made a four-point demand at a press meet in Dhaka even if they demanded the four clauses under Sections 15, 19 and 23 of the Customs Agent Licensing Rules 2020 must be amended while claiming it found the clauses went against their interest.
The association also demanded withdrawal of rules and regulations, which allows slapping fine for mistakes in HS code and CPC, saying setting HS code was a technical issue even if they demanded authorities must refrain from taking measures like locking AIN number of the C&F agents, cancellation of licences and slapping fine without proof.
