Canadian apparel import remained stagnant with just 3.30 per cent monthly growth in May this year as compared to the preceding month, according to official data.
The country imported US $ 724.69 million worth of garments in May, up from US $ 694.67 million in April. On the other hand, Y-o-Y change is massive and the country has seen an increase of 110 per cent from its shipment value US $ 345 million that was registered in May ’20.
Though all major apparel manufacturing countries increased their respective shipments to Canada on Y-o-Y basis, many of them declined on monthly note.
Except China, Pakistan and Italy, all other shippers in top 10 tally plunged in their apparel exports to Canada during May ’21 as compared to Apr. ’21.
