The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) is planning to organise a ‘German Trade Fair’ in May next year, while a BGCCI delegation is scheduled to visit Germany early next year so as to explore new business opportunities and strengthen the ties between the two countries.
The BGCCI President Omar Sadat reportedly maintained this while underlining that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a vast potential to diversify and increase exports to Germany.
It may be mentioned here that Germany is the second largest export destination of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparel, leather and home textile items. The country reportedly exported goods worth US $ 5 billion to Germany last year.
As per a press communique issued by the BGCCI, the trade body organised a farewell discussion on Saturday for the newly appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, who on his part ensured working towards improving and strengthening bilateral trade relations with Germany while adding that the German Embassy was working towards forging a better business relationship with Bangladesh.
The newly appointed envoy to Germany reportedly also underlined that he recently had productive meeting with the German Ambassador in this direction.
