During a programme held recently to commemorate Korean National Day in Dhaka city, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M. Shahriar Alam announced that the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and South Korea had surpassed US $ 3 billion mark during the fiscal year 2022-23.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed his gratitude to the Korean Government for providing preferential access to 95 per cent of Bangladeshi products.
Meanwhile, South Korean Ambassador Park Young Sik also emphasised the strong foundation of bilateral relations between the two nations.
He referred to Bangladesh as one of South Korea’s closest allies and expressed optimism that these ties would embark on a new and prosperous trajectory in the days ahead.
It may be mentioned here South Korea has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of the Bangladesh apparel industry even as several South Korean apparel makers continue to operate from Bangladesh to date.
