Bangladeshi business leaders reportedly urged the Turkish entrepreneurs to promote joint ventures in various industries across the country including the readymade garment, Information Technology (IT), Agro-based industries and other potential sectors.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) made the call to the visiting delegation of Turkey-Bangladesh Business Council (TBBC) at its head office in Dhaka on February 16, 2018.
According to the press statement issued by FBCCI, its leaders have put stress on the transfer of factory and technology from Turkey to Bangladesh with an aim to increase investment and bilateral trade between the two nations.
Spearheaded by the Chairperson Laura Gok, the Turkish delegation team comprised of Turkish Embassy Commercial Counselor Murat Yarat and TBBC Assistant Coordinator Tulin Avci. On the other hand, from FBCCI – President Md. Shafiul Islam, Senior Vice President Sheikh Fazle Fahim, Directors Rejaul Kariem Rejnu, Md Abu Naser, Masud Parvez Khan Imran and Nizamuddin Rajesh took part in the discussion.
The FBCCI Chief also drew the attention of Turkish investors by underlining the lucrative offers provided by the Bangladesh Government to the foreign investors including Tax Holiday, Double Taxation, Corporate Tax Incentive and subsidies to set up JVs/units in the country’s Economic Zones (EZs), which primarily house garment manufacturing facilities.
It could be mentioned here that Bangladesh exports a wide range of products to Turkey including woven garments, knitwear, staple fibres, home textile and ceramic products.
