Bangladesh’s apparel exports to USA, in January-October this year, increased by around 27 per cent from the receipts over the same period in 2020 even as the country (Bangladesh) fetched around US $ 5.7 billion from US in the first 10 months.
Media reports maintained this adding, in the process, Bangladesh has left behind Vietnam, China and Indonesia in terms of apparel export growth even as China’s exports to the US amounted to US $ 16 billion (with a 25 per cent growth), even as Vietnam and Indonesia, reportedly, recorded 14 per cent and 10per cent growth, respectively.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Chairman of Bangladesh’s Research and Policy Integration for Development, Dr. Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, reportedly, maintained following receipt of incentives from their Government, Americans have started spending on things, such as clothing even as the Executive President of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Mohammad Hatem, on his part, added that Bangladesh’s apparel export to US market has kept growing as many US buyers were now shifting orders to Bangladesh.
