After signing the first preferential trade agreement with Bhutan, Bangladesh is apparently now all set to ink its next PTA with Nepal.
According to Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, the PTA between Bangladesh and Nepal was in the final stage even as he expressed hopes of the same being signed after getting the final nod from the Nepalese side.
As per reports, Tapan Kanti Ghosh maintained this while addressing a meeting between the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and a delegation of Nepal’s Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) recently.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commerce Secretary further, reportedly, added there are commonalities between Nepal and Bangladesh even as both the countries are all set to graduate from the LDC category in 2026.
