Surprisingly when the Indian apparel export industry is facing the brunt of low orders and even lower FOBs, Noida-based 360 Clothing, having created a name in garment dyed women’s wear, is surging high in the opposite direction by planning to consolidate its buyers, so as to allocate its capacity of 120 sewing machines for larger quantities. The company currently has 70 buyers in 30 countries. “In times when the labour wages are going up along with other inputs resulting in increasing cost of manufacturing, working with small quantities comes out to be very expensive in the longer run, unlike when working with large order quantities,” reasons Brigadier (Retd.) K. Mago of 360 Clothing. “The changeover will take time, and we will still like to work with some buyers placing small quantities only as they have been working with the company since its inception in 1989,” he concluded.
