
Two more new factories in Bangladesh have recently been certified as LEED Platinum, indicating a significant step forward in the country’s sustainable industrial expansion.
This boosts the overall number of LEED Green factories to 224, including 88 Platinum and 122 Gold ratings.
The newly certified four factories are—Ananta Jeanswear Limited (90 points), which was established in 1992 with the aim of Catering to customers’ needs by practicing innovative ideas across design & manufacturing., and Basic Shirts Limited (90 points). It was established in 2001, and is situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh. With a total sewing workforce of 2400, Basic is a formidable player in garment making in the region.
Earlier this month, Boss Corporation Ltd, Aptech Caswier Ltd also obtained LEED Green certification.
Bangladesh now has 59 out of the world’s top 100 highest-rated LEED-certified factories.
This milestone highlights Bangladesh’s progress in enhancing its green manufacturing capabilities, contributing to both environmental sustainability and the global competitiveness of its textile and garment industry.
