
Elevating its own requirements of compliance with sourcing practices that are aligned with ethical treatment of animals, H&M – the Swedish fashion retailer has signed up with Humane Society International (HSI). Following the collaboration, the retailer known to be at the forefront of ethical sourcing initiatives, will pursue policy change in countries around the world for practices such as mulesing (removal of strips of wool-bearing skin from around the buttocks of a live sheep), live-plucking and force-feeding. H&M will also actively partake in the #BeCrueltyFree campaign against cosmetics animal testing, supporting training and education programmes as well as raising awareness with both stakeholders and consumers.
